Nakhon Si Thammarat also has the highest mountains in the south of Thailand. Transportation options are plentiful as well. Khanom is halfway between Nakhon Si Thammarat City and Surat Thani (approximately a 75-minute drive away) which both have large Central Department Stores and airports with frequent flights to Bangkok. Don Sak Ferry Pier, where you can catch a ride to the famous gulf islands of Ko Samui, Ko Phangan and Ko Tao, is only 30 minutes away.
Sichon is closer to Nakhon Si Thammarat, which is about an hour away with the airport reachable in 45 minutes. This makes it a viable weekend getaway destination from Bangkok. Sichon itself also has Tesco-Lotus and Big-C shopping centres that can provide for most of your shopping needs.
