The Jewel development, currently under construction on the Gold Coast’s iconic Surfers Paradise beachfront, is set to be remembered for creating new benchmarks in design and build, not just in Australia but globally.
The more than AUD$1 billion development will become the city’s only beachfront five-star hotel and residence, and the first beachfront resort to be built in around 30 years. Featuring 512 residential apartments, a 169-suite, five-star hotel, three levels of basement parking to accommodate 812 vehicles, as well as high-end retail and culinary precincts, “Jewel’s” three towers will set new benchmarks in luxury and design.
In a competition featuring hundreds of entries from 25 countries, the design of “Jewel’s” gold crystalline towers was awarded the Best Mixed-Use Architecture Australia, and Highly Commended Mixed-Use Development Australia by an independent international panel of 70 industry experts, chaired by Lord Caithness and Lord Best, members of the House of Lords in the U.K. Parliament. Judging focused on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.
Importantly, it will also set new standards of luxury for apartment and hotel accommodation in Australia, putting the Gold Coast on the international stage and a rival for prestige tourist destinations such as Dubai’s Burj Al Arab and Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.
Each tower will have its own unique internal design and bespoke fittings. This means Jewel will offer buyers around 50 different apartment types. The internal focus will be firmly on natural materials. All apartments will have either timber or stone flooring, with kitchens and bathrooms featuring beautiful marble and onyx surfaces, offset with state of the art tap ware, basins and fittings designed exclusively for Jewel.
This masterpiece is brought to the Gold Coast by world-renowned developer Wanda, in conjunction with the award-winning Ridong Group, and will grace the shores of Surfers Paradise by early-2019.
While many will admire its stunning crystalline forms, only a limited few will ever have the chance to call Jewel ‘home’. For more information visit www.jewelgc.com.
